Homelessness can be caused by Family Violence, Mental health issues, Physical health issue e.g. accidents at work and bills mounting up, Loss of employment, under-employment or inability to gain a new job, Limited housing/rental stress, Drug and alcohol addiction (an RMIT University study showed that 50% of homeless with addiction problems got them AFTER being homeless) Traumatic Experiences.
NIGHT OFF THE STREETS
Your donation will get a person in need off the street for the night, providing them with a warm bed, food, clean clothes, a hot shower and access to ongoing support.

We provide a range of homelessness and housing support services for young people aged 25 and under.
What we offer
- Prevention and early intervention support for young people in the community who are at risk of becoming homeless
- 24-hour crisis accommodation in our two youth refuges
- Supported and transitional housing for young people ready to live independently
- One-on-one casework support and referrals to other specialist services such as counselling and alcohol and other drugs services

The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter opened its doors in February 2015, offering safe emergency accommodation and support services to women facing domestic violence and homelessness.
HKWS offers accommodation for three months.

Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) is a feminist, grassroots organisation that supports women and families in crisis and advocates for social change in the community. We are based in Redfern, Sydney and work on the lands of the Gadigal and Wangal people of the Eora Nation.
Every night, we support 200 women and children impacted by homelessness, domestic violence and systemic disadvantage.
